  Good morning, my dear judges, I am NO.2. It’s a great honor for me to be here to talk about my teaching ideas with you. My presentation will include the following aspects: the analysis of teaching material, the analysis of students,the analysis of teaching procedures and so on.

  Part1: the analysis of teaching material

  First, let's analyze the teaching material. This lesson is taken from Unit 2 of Fujian Education Press primary English book 6. The main content of this lesson is the pronunciation of letter “o”. After leaning, students can spell the letter “o” correctly in a certain word.

  Part2: the analysis of students

  After the analysis of teaching material, now let me analyze the students. With the growth of age, the students in grade 4 have the subtle mental change, from active to quiet, dislike projecting themselves. however, their abstract thinking ability level is low and their attention can be scattered easily. All the factors above will be considered into my teaching plan.

  Part3: the analysis of teaching objectives

  1.Knowledge objective: Students will be able to pronounce letter “o” as [əʊ]、[ɒ] or [ʌ] correctly.

  2.Ability objective: By practicing, students can read the letter “o” in certain words.

  3.Emotional objective: students' interest of learning English will be fostered.

  Part4: the analysis of teaching key&difficult points

  Key point: the pronunciation of the letter“o”.

  Difficult point: how to understand the rule of the pronunciation of letter “o”.

  Part5: the analysis of teaching methods

  According to the students physical and physiological characteristics, I will adopt Communicative Approach, and the situational teaching method to improve the students enthusiasm, design a variety of activities, make the students learn to play and play to learn .

  Part6: the analysis of teaching procedures

  Step1: Warming-up

  At the beginning of the class, after greeting my students, we will sing the Phonics song together, it is like this...by doing this activity, students can review the pronunciation of some English letters, meanwhile, a good learning atmosphere can be created.

  Step2: presentation

  In this step, the main task is to lead them to understand the pronunciation rule of letter “o”. So here are three activities in all.

  Activity1: I will show them several pictures and ask them what they are. Then I will lead them to read the words on them like rose, nose, dog, stop...

  Activity2: Students are asked to find similarity between the pronunciation of the letter “o” in “nose、stop、 robot...”

  Activity3: I will lead them to summarize the pronunciation of the letter “o” in these words [əʊ]、[ɒ] or [ʌ] and ask students to read after me.

  By doing these three activities, students can understand the pronunciation of the letter “o” and can pronounce them correctly.

  Step3: consolidation

  This step is mainly to help them consolidate the pronunciation of the letter “o” in English, meanwhile, encourage them to work in groups. Here are two tasks.

  Task1: help the words find their home

  I will give students some English words like vote, hot, lot...ask students to help them to find their home[əʊ]、[ɒ] or [ʌ] .

  Task2: make up a story

  students are asked to make up a story using the words we have learned today, then show to us. Which group performs better can get a reward.

  Step4: summary&homework

  At the end of the class, I will ask someone to summarize what we have learned today, and I give them some supplements.

  Finally, as for homework, students have find more words with letter “o”, and write down their pronunciation. Show us the result next class.

  Through these two tasks, students will have a further understanding of the teaching content today.

  Part7: the analysis of blackboard design

  Lastly, I would like to talk about my blackboard design. As you can see, It is very clear and logical, students can easily master what we have learned in the class.
