  Good morning, my dear teachers. I am No.3. It is my great honor to share my teaching idea with you. My topic is “Anne’s best friend. I will show my lesson from the following 6 parts.

  Part 1. The analysis of teaching material.

  This lesson is a reading passage which is from unit 1, book 1 published by PEP for senior high ss. The content of this lesson is about Anne’s best friend (her diary). Her life during the world war Ⅱand a page of her diary. By learning this lesson, students will know more about friends and friendship.

  According to the teaching material. I set up the following teaching objectives:

  Knowledge objectives:

  By reading the text, students get to know the learning and usage of key words such as;going through, at dusk and so on.

  Understand the meaning of the text and the writing style of a diary.

  Ability objectives:

  Make use of some reading strategies, such as skimming, scanning and information gathering, summarizing and guessing meaning of the new words from the text.

  According to the adjectives, students get a deep understanding of Anne’s feelings about nature before and after hiding.

  Emotional objectives:

  To cultivate students’ cooperative spirit.

  To realize friends are those who you can tell everything to, such as your deepest feelings and thoughts and can make friends with whoever or whatever you like.

  Then I will talk about the teaching key points and difficult points. The key points are that how to improve students’ reading skills and help students to understand the text. How to understand the text deeply id the difficult points.

  Part 2. The analysis of students

  Students of senior 1 have grasped a certain amount of knowledge of World War 2 and some skills of English reading and they have some experience about friends and friendship. So this passage will attach their attention, interest and deepen their understanding of this topic.

  Part 3 teaching method

  To achieve the teaching objectives, I will mainly adopt CAI, CLT and TBLT method.

  Part 4. Learning methods

  In order to understand the passage deeply. I will lead ss to combine autonomous learning and cooperative learning together.

  Part 5. Teaching procedures

  I will show the most important part teaching procedure in the following four parts.

  Step 1. Lead in and pre-reading

  I will show ss the picture of TF boys and have a free talk:

  Are they friends?

  Does a friend always to be a person?

  What else can be your friend?

  To arouse ss’ attention and curiosity about the text and make preparation for the reading.

  Step 2. while-reading

  In this part, there are 3 activities

  Activity 1: skimming

  Students skim the passage and answer the following questions:

  Q1:How many parts does the text contain?

  Q2: what is the main idea of each part?

  In this activity,I will guide the students to summarize the main idea.

  Part 1: Anne’s best friend-her diary

  Part2: A page of her diary

  Activity 2: scanning

  Scan the passage and join the correct parts of the sentences on Page 3.

  By doing this, students can get a further understanding of the passage.

  Activity 3: intensive learning

  According to the context, students read the passage carefully and guess the meaning of the new words. Then have a group discussion: what is Anne’s feelings about nature before and after hiding. And think about why changed?

  It is beneficial for the students to master the new words and improve their reading strategies such as information gathering and summarizing and cultivate their cooperative spirit.

  Step 3. Post-reading

  Activity 1. Retell the passage

  According to the blackboard,ask some students to retell the passage to check whether they have got the main idea and specific information of the passage.

  Activity 2. Role play

  Ask students to imagine if they are hiding like Anne and her family. What would you miss most? Why?

Things I miss most Reasons
   

  By doing this,ss will realize the importance of peace and freedom. So students will have the opportunity to express their own idea in English and improve their reading comprehension.

  Step 4. Homework

  Write an article about your best friend.

  Write down the differences between an ordinary diary and Anne’s diary. And share with the classmates next time.

  Part 6. Blackboard design

  Here is my blackboard design. It is easy and clear. It includes the title, the main idea and the key questions about the passage which show the key and difficult point clearly.
